Each copy is lower max HP and lower HD than the last (the 7 maximum is because if you somehow did that many without a final death due to lack of Princess Slime the next one wouldn't have any HD and there's a special case of Jiyva dying of exhaustion when that would happen). If there is a princess slime in the LoS of TRJ (her's not yours) when she dies there's a message "Jiyva says: The royal jelly is dead, long live the royal jelly." and one of the Princess Slimes promotes to being a new Royal Jelly.
